Our purpose is to provide support to maritimers interested in dog-driven sports.
We also hope to educate the public at large, as to the variations on classic Alaskan-style dog-driving. Most people think that to mush, you require a team of huskies and loads of expensive equipment. This is simply not true. As a beginning musher myself, I’ve started by learning the ins and outs of the Scandanavian sport of skijoring – which can be done with relatively inexpensive equipment and a variety of different breeds of dog. If you have a pair of cross-country skis and a dog over 30 pounds you’re pretty much ready to go!
